.308 80% Lower – Billet: Precision Platform for Custom Builds
Engineered from solid 7075-T6 aluminum, the .308 80% lower – billet delivers the dimensional stability and material integrity required for large-frame AR platform builds. This un-machined lower receiver requires final milling of the fire control pocket and trigger pin holes, granting the builder full control over component selection and final assembly. Designed to accept standard DPMS pattern .308 upper receivers, this billet lower provides a rigid foundation suited for long-range precision, hunting, or heavy-caliber defensive configurations.
Overview
The .308 80% lower – billet is machined from a single block of 7075-T6 aluminum on multi-axis CNC equipment, then hard-coat anodized to MIL-A-8625 Type III specifications. The billet construction eliminates the forging seam common in stamped receivers, resulting in a denser grain structure and superior tensile strength. Pre-machined features include the threaded buffer tube aperture (1-3/16-18 UNEF thread), trigger guard recess, bolt catch channel, and rear takedown lug pocket. The builder completes the unfinished trigger pocket and selector detent channel to their exact depth and alignment tolerances.

Who It’s For
The .308 80% lower – billet is intended for experienced builders who possess a drill press, milling machine, or router-based jig system capable of maintaining 0.001-inch positional accuracy. This product suits shooters seeking a custom large-frame rifle with no manufacturer markings, allowing complete control over trigger selection, grip angle, and stock configuration. Lawful individuals in jurisdictions where 80% lowers are permitted may use this receiver to construct a dedicated precision rifle, a .308 hunting platform, or a heavy-barrel DMR clone. This component requires the builder to perform the final machining steps themselves and assumes the builder possesses the technical knowledge to safely complete a functional firearm receiver.
Shipping & FFL
This .308 80% lower – billet is classified as an unfinished firearm receiver blank under current Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) rulings. It is shipped directly to the purchaser without the requirement of a Federal Firearms License (FFL) transfer at the point of sale. However, the purchaser must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding the possession, machining, and completion of unfinished receivers. Some states and municipalities impose restrictions on 80% lowers. It is the buyer’s responsibility to verify their local laws before purchase. Once machined into a functional receiver, the completed lower must be transferred through a licensed FFL dealer if sold or transferred to another party. No firearms or firearm components requiring serialization are included with this product.
