Buying G150 lowers in packs: the per-unit maths and one jig

The G150 Phoenix2 is the one Polymer80 lower sold in packs, and the packs are where the price per receiver drops. Here is how to work out whether a pack is worth it for you.

The rule

You need exactly one G150 jig no matter how many lowers you finish. So the first lower costs the kit price (receiver plus jig, bits and end mill) and every lower after that costs only the receiver. Buy the kit once, then the pack.

Worked example

One build: the kit. Two builds: kit plus receiver-only, or kit plus a 2-pack and keep a spare. Three or more: kit plus the 3-pack or 5-pack, and the per-unit price on the table above is what each additional lower actually costs. The packs are the same receiver as the kit, in the same reinforced polymer with the integrated trigger guard.

Bits wear

The end mill in the kit will do several lowers if you keep it oiled and clear chips. A spare 5/16 end mill is cheap and worth having before the fourth receiver.

Legal note

Each unfinished receiver is a separate item and the same state rules apply to every one of them. Some states limit how many unserialized receivers you may possess; check before ordering a pack.
